(A) Refer Rule 4.4 (a) (ii) of Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I 

Question 1. : - A Government employee drawing substantive pay of Rs. 1000/- per month in the pay scale of Rs. 800-25-850-30-1000-40-1200-50-1400 w.e.f. 01.01.1982. He was appointed to another post carrying the pay scale of Rs. 825-25-850-30-1000-40-1200-50-1400-60-1580 w.e.f. 01.06.1982. The appointment to the new post does not involve duties and responsibilities of greater importance. Fix his pay on a new post and find out the date of the next increment.

Solution: -

In the above question following rules are used -
Rule 4.4 (a) (ii) Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I is for fixation of pay when the Government employee is appointed from a substantive post to another substantive post not involving higher responsibility.
Rule 4.9 (a) of Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I is for annual increment. 



(B) Refer Rule 4.4 (a) (ii) of Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I (for fixing Personal Pay)

Question 2 :- A Government employee was drawing substantive pay of Rs. 3215 per month in the pay scale of Rs. 2610-60-3150-65-3540 w.e.f. 01.04.1998 was appointed in substantive capacity on a permanent post which carries no higher responsibility in the pay scale of Rs. 2650-65-3300-70-4000 on 01.07.1998. Fix his pay on 01.07.1998 and find out the date of the next increment. 



Solution:- 
*(PP) = Personal Pay
In the above question following rules are used -
Rule 4.4 (a) (ii) Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I is for fixation of pay when the Government employee is appointed from a substantive post to another substantive post not involving higher responsibility and when personal pay is involved in the fixation of pay.

Rule 4.9 (a) of Punjab Civil Service Rules volume I Part I is for annual increment.
